Autobiography writing services
Most autobiography writing services ask you to send drafts back and forth. Nothing to it writing (NTI Writing) asks you questions instead. You talk, we write it up, you check it, and a hardcover book comes back with your name on the front.
What the service does
1. We ask, you talk
A patient interviewer asks one question at a time and reads it out loud. You answer for as long as you like — there is nothing to type and nothing to plan first. Pause and come back whenever you want.
2. Your answers become chapters
Each recording is written up in your own words and grouped into chapters by theme, so childhood, work, family and the hard years fall into place without you organising anything.
3. An editorial pass tidies it
Names, dates, places and repeated sentences are checked and cleaned up. Every change is shown to you before it is saved, so nothing is put into your book that you have not read.
4. Photographs go in
Add family photographs where they belong, with captions, and we check each one is sharp enough to print before it reaches the press.
5. You get a printed book
A large-print hardcover with a cover of your own, plus PDF and EPUB copies. Order as many as there are people in the story.
Who it is for
- Someone who wants their life story saved but has never enjoyed writing.
- A parent or grandparent whose hands, eyes or memory make typing hard.
- A family who want the story recorded in the person's own voice while they can still tell it.
- Anyone with half-finished notes and no idea how to turn them into a book.
Where to start
Read a sample story to hear how spoken answers read on the page, see the stages from first recording to hardcover, or compare plans on the pricing page. If you would rather do it yourself, the guide to writing a book about your life walks through the whole process, and our list of questions to ask your parents gives families a simple place to begin.
